Project Description
Discover the BedBug ID Project: Revolutionizing U.S. Agriculture
The Extrasense team, in partnership with one of the most prominent tech hubs with Latin roots in the United States, embarked on a project aimed at revolutionizing agriculture in the country. Their approach focused on applying technology to pest control, a major challenge in modern farming.
Challenges
The main problem this project set out to solve was the need to control insect pests more efficiently and accurately in U.S. agriculture. Traditionally, this process had been costly and time-consuming. BedBug ID sought to provide a fast and effective solution for identifying insects and managing pests more precisely.
Benefits for the Client and the User
BedBug ID provides farmers and agricultural professionals in the United States with a valuable tool to control insect pests quickly and accurately. Pest identification has been greatly simplified, reducing the time and costs associated with management. This technological solution not only benefits farmers but also contributes to more sustainable and efficient agriculture in the country.

Technology Used
In this project, development teams used technologies such as MongoDB, NodeJS, React, and React Native to build the BedBug ID application and the corresponding control panel. The design team was also responsible for the entire UI.
React, Node and Python
BedBug ID is an application that, from a photo of the insect, identifies the species and evaluates its risk as a pest. It is designed for factories and agricultural operations, where it helps anticipate possible infestations and automate wildlife monitoring.
On the frontend, React provides a fast, intuitive interface adaptable to any device.
On the backend, Node.js coordinates communication and processing with high availability and scalability.
For analysis and recognition, Python runs the computer vision models and specialized libraries that ensure accurate and consistent classifications.
